IllustrationChef Kevin Finch — whose résumé runs through Maialino, Maaemo in Norway and Atelier Crenn — opened his first restaurant with his partner Alexa Finch in April 2026, in the Franklin Street room that was Fulgurances Laundromat. He calls it an aspiring neighborhood restaurant: casual food with a lot of technique behind it.
Take a stool at the chef's counter for the view of the kitchen. Order the snail skewer with brown butter, the beef tartare with oyster emulsion and house brioche, and scallops in dashi if they're on; the menu moves with the seasons. The brioche martini is the house cocktail, and the brown butter sundae is the ending.
Editor’s tip
Book the counter, start with snails and a brioche martini, and don't skip the sundae.
