Cachapas y Mas

Sweet-corn cachapas folded over white cheese, served deep into the night on Dyckman Street.

Another uptown Venezuelan story that began on wheels: Cachapas y Mas started as a truck in August 2005 before settling into this storefront on Dyckman Street, where it keeps late hours most nights.

The cachapa is the dish to order — a thick, sweet fresh-corn pancake folded over soft white cheese. Patacones and arepas are here too, plus tequeños and empanadas for the table. Simple, filling, and cheap enough to order one more thing.

Editor’s tip

Get a cachapa with cheese and a round of tequeños to share.
