IllustrationA Senegalese-Parisian café that opened on this Bedford Avenue corner in 2013 and has grown into a small world of its own, with a concept store and nail studio next door. The name comes from a lively meeting street in Pikine, Dakar; the room has West African masks on the walls, Afrobeat on the speakers and a bar wrapped in textile patterns.
Come for a slow Saturday: beignets and a pot of Senegalese tea in the morning, beef mafe at lunch, or whole branzino at dinner with drinks before a night out. There is outdoor seating in good weather.
Editor’s tip
Linger over weekend brunch, then browse the concept store next door.
