Come after five and you will probably wait, watching the rotisserie chickens turn behind the counter for a while before you order. Nobody seems to mind. This plain Peruvian-Chinese counter on Broadway is the kind of place Astoria picks up dinner from every week, with a bright yellow dining room off to the side for anyone who wants to stay.

The order is pollo a la brasa: a whole bird, or a combo, with crackling, deeply seasoned skin. Stay and eat in for the squeeze bottles of green sauce on every table, which you will use more than you expect. Spare ribs and Chino-Latino sides like fried rice fill out the menu, but the chicken is the point.

Editor’s tip

Get a whole chicken, sit in the yellow dining room, and use the green sauce freely.
