The two Franks behind Frankies 457 Spuntino turned a garage on Court Street into a slice shop, and it cooks with the same Italian pedigree: a crisp crust, a bright sauce, and cheese that tastes freshly made. The topping list is short and rotates, and there is outdoor seating to eat on.

Order the hot sausage with brown butter and sage — a pizza riff on a Frankies pasta — as a slice or a whole pie, and the garlic-butter clam slice if it is on. The owners have since opened a sit-down F&F restaurant a few doors along at 465 Court.

Editor’s tip

Pair a slice here with a walk past the front gardens on Carroll and President Streets.
