WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN

Fish Cheeks Williamsburg

Thai seafood, family-style, on Driggs Avenue — coconut crab curry, steamed branzino and raw marinated crab.

Fish Cheeks opened on Bond Street in NoHo in 2016 with a simple premise — Thai seafood, served family-style, and no pad Thai — and in May 2025 its owners brought it to Driggs Avenue. The Williamsburg room has a colorful bar up front and a moodier dining room behind, and the same house rules.

The coconut crab curry, thick with crab meat, is the dish that made the name. Add a whole branzino steamed with Thai herbs, lime and cilantro, the zabb chicken wings, and the marinated raw crab, cured in lime, fish sauce and bird's eye chili, that is made only at this location. The tom yum ramen is the one noodle bowl on the menu.

Editor’s tip

Come with at least three people so the crab curry and the whole fish can share the table.
