The 1926 corner diner at Metropolitan and Union, back with chrome, Tex-Mex and a serious dessert case.

An all-night anchor on the corner of Metropolitan and Union since 1926, Kellogg's went bankrupt and closed in 2023, then came back with a glow-up: shiny chrome, beige-pink booths and placemats drawn with classic Williamsburg businesses. It still does what a diner should, late into the night, with orange wine and cocktails on the side.

The menu is long and laced with Tex-Mex and Southern cooking: a fried chicken biscuit with honey butter, guajillo short rib hash at brunch, saucy ribs at the bar. Whatever you order, save room for the dessert case — the passion fruit tart alone justifies the trip, and nobody minds if you have pie first.

Editor’s tip

Go late, sit in a booth, and order dessert for the table no matter what else you get.
