Khao Nom
Khao Kang's made-to-order sibling — curry puffs, red pork over rice and a case of Thai sweets.
Around the corner from Khao Kang and run by the same people, Khao Nom is the made-to-order sibling: a small counter-service room where the cooking happens after you order, and where the Thai sweets are half the draw. It is the place on this block to sit down for a quick lunch, then leave with a bag of desserts.
On the savory side there are curry puffs, khao man gai, khao moo dang — red barbecued pork over rice — Thai corn fritters and a tom yum noodle soup. The sweets are the reason to linger: pandan rolls, coconut pudding and other small Thai desserts packed to take home.
Editor’s tip
Eat khao moo dang here, then buy a few desserts to carry over to Khao Kang or home.
