IllustrationIn the 1970s and '80s this corner was a Chinese American fish kitchen; since 2015 it has been King Tai, a sunny, breezy little bar with big windows and a vaguely tropical streak. Early evening is calm, and it gets livelier as the night goes on, with a DJ in the corner on weekends.
Come for a long happy hour and a good cocktail, and stay for the room, which works as a clubhouse for this part of the neighborhood. Food comes from a resident pop-up, Babydudes, later in the week.
Editor’s tip
Come early for happy hour and a window seat; check Instagram for the weekend DJ schedule.
