IllustrationA group of friends opened LaRina on Myrtle Avenue in 2016 and named it for Rina, the grandmother of two of the owners. Chef Silvia Barban's kitchen makes its pasta in-house every day, and the wine list leans natural. The draw in warm months is the patio out back, ivy and tile and candlelight, the sort of place where a weeknight dinner stretches out.
Split a few of the day's pastas between two — the smoky spaghetti with Calabrian chile, garlic and crunchy hazelnuts is a signature — with a seasonal salad and a carafe of wine. Save room for the salted caramel panna cotta.
Editor’s tip
Ask for the patio, order two pastas and a small plate for two, and do not skip the panna cotta.
