IllustrationThe restored lobby of the Hotel Chelsea is now a bar for guests and neighbors alike: couches and armchairs, a marble bar beneath a large chandelier, and a garden room that catches the afternoon sun.
The house martini is the 1884, made with gin, cedro lemon, vetiver and Spanish olive oil. There is an Arnaud's French 75, a Strawberry Sbagliato for anyone not drinking, a short list of small plates, and fries that regulars swear by.
Editor’s tip
Go in the late afternoon for a seat in the garden room, then walk next door to Café Chelsea or El Quijote for dinner.
