MIDTOWN, MANHATTAN

Ophelia Lounge

A deco supper-club rooftop in the 1928 Beekman Tower, with the Chrysler Building out one window and the river out the other.

Ophelia occupies the 26th floor of the Beekman Tower, a 1928 art deco landmark near the East River, in a space that spent earlier lives as a celebrated supper club. The restoration kept the period details — arched windows, brass, velvet — and added a cocktail program ambitious enough to justify the elevator ride on its own.

The views run from the Chrysler Building to the river and the Queensboro Bridge, and because the tower sits east of the Midtown crush, the crowd skews more date-night than after-work. Arrive before sunset, take a window table, and let the city do the second half of the work.

Editor’s tip

Book the slot that starts about forty minutes before sunset — you get the daylight view, the light show, and the skyline at night in one sitting.
