NOLITA, MANHATTAN
Rubirosa
Nolita's thin-crust parlor — the Tie Dye pie, vodka sauce, and a room that hums all night.
A rowdy Mulberry Street pizza parlor that got a little dressed up: low light, a long bar, tables packed close, and a crowd that is going somewhere afterward. The pies are thin, crisp and evenly charred, and the room is loud in the best way.
Order the Tie Dye — vodka sauce, tomato and pesto swirled across one pie — and a vodka pie with pepperoni if there are more of you. Add the house salad and a bowl of cavatelli with sausage and broccoli rabe. Reservations are hard to get; walk-ins can wait, so put your name in and take a slow loop around the cathedral.
Editor’s tip
Get the Tie Dye, and if the wait is long, walk the brick wall of St. Patrick's Old Cathedral a block north.
