A narrow, seafoam-walled room on Rivington Street, run by two owners who met at Cosme and now work the bar themselves. They call it a working-class wine bar, and the list backs that up: glasses grouped by how much skin contact they have, and most bottles priced to open without ceremony.

Ask about the cuvée the owners helped make in Catalonia, or a chilled Croatian red. The food is snack-sized — octopus salad, mini tuna melts — which is exactly right for a second stop or a slow first one.

Editor’s tip

Tell whoever is pouring how funky you like it and let them choose the glass.
