IllustrationHart's opened in the fall of 2016 on the corner of Franklin Avenue and Fulton Street, right by the C train, and the whole thing is about the size of a studio apartment: a few two-tops, a long communal table, five bar seats, candlelight and some inevitable elbow-bumping. The dinner menu changes daily with what local farms have.
A few dishes have stood the test of time. The clam toast — thick buttery sourdough in a briny pool of olive oil and clam juice — is the one to order every visit, and the lamb burger with tiny anchovies is a first-timer's must. A golden pork milanese with green tomatoes and bottarga butter is often on too. From spring into fall there is a walk-in patio outside.
Editor’s tip
Book indoors for two, get the clam toast and the lamb burger, and let the server steer the rest.
