IllustrationSaraghina opened in June 2009 on the corner of Halsey Street and Lewis Avenue and became one of the restaurants that defined this part of Bed-Stuy. Named for the beach dancer in Fellini's 8½, the dining room looks like a very nice antique store, and out back is a garden strung with little lights that feels like a rustic village a long way from Brooklyn.
Come for the Neapolitan-style pizza and a bottle from a solid wine list, on a weeknight or a slow Saturday. The family also runs Saraghina Bakery next door on Halsey Street, known for naturally leavened breads, and Saraghina Caffè in Fort Greene.
Editor’s tip
On a mild evening, ask for the garden; pick up a loaf at the bakery next door on the way out the next morning.
