Win Son

Taiwanese-American cooking on Graham Avenue — lu rou fan, scallion pancakes and pan-griddled pork buns.

Win Son took Taiwanese-American cooking out of the food court and into a neighborhood restaurant, and East Williamsburg has been glad of it for years. The corner room on Graham Avenue is warm and noisy, a long table for groups, and a sister bakery, Win Son Bakery, for mornings.

The order that matters is lu rou fan, minced braised pork belly over rice with a soft egg — Taiwan's comfort food in one bowl. Around it: flaky scallion pancakes, pan-griddled pork buns, fried eggplant with cashews, and a fried chicken sandwich on a soft sweet bun. Sesame noodles round things out. Come for dinner, or weekend brunch.

Editor’s tip

Start with scallion pancakes, make lu rou fan the centerpiece, and try Win Son Bakery the next morning.
