TRIBECA, MANHATTAN
Free Kayaking at Pier 26
Free kayaking on the Hudson on summer weekends — back next season.

Volunteers at the Downtown Boathouse lend out kayaks for free at Pier 26 in Hudson River Park, for about 20 minutes of paddling inside a protected area between the piers. No reservations: it's first come, first served, you sign a waiver, and you need to be able to swim.
It's a summer-weekend program. The 2026 season ran May 23 to October 4, so this one is for next summer.
