Laghman Express

Laghman Express is a halal Central Asian noodle house on 20th Avenue in Bensonhurst, opened in early 2024 by co-owners Oibek Dzhuraev and his uncle Kamalbek Jurayev, as reported by Hell Gate. The draw is laghman: dough pulled, folded and slapped against the counter until it becomes long, springy noodles, then cooked to order and topped with a stir-fry of meat, tomatoes, peppers and onions. The New York Times has named it to its list of the 100 best restaurants in New York City, and the original Bensonhurst storefront has since grown into a small family of locations in Gravesend, Sheepshead Bay and Alpharetta, Georgia. The room is simple and bright; the noodles are the show.

Start with guyurou laghman, the signature hand-pulled noodles under a wok-fried topping, or try the same noodles fried dry until the edges catch. Dapanji, the big-plate chicken stew, is built for sharing, and steamed manty dumplings, baked samsa and cumin lamb fill out the table, along with round loaves of non bread and a pot of tea. The full menu is halal. Laghman Express was featured by the YouTuber New York Turk in 2025, on a solo dinner at the small family restaurant. Portions are generous, so a group of three or four can order several dishes to share. Today's menu and prices are posted on the restaurant's ordering site.
