RICHMOND HILL, QUEENS
Neir's Tavern
The Woodhaven tavern where Goodfellas filmed its bar scenes, pouring since 1829 by its own count.
See current Google rating & reviews ↗Neir's Tavern in Woodhaven says it has been pouring since 1829, which would make it one of the oldest bars in New York, and it is the single best Goodfellas stop in the city. The bar scenes after the big heist were filmed here, including the Christmas party where Frankie Carbone shows off a new fur coat to Jimmy's dismay, and the walls are lined with memorabilia from the shoot.
It nearly closed over its rent in 2020 before neighbors and the city rallied to save it, and in 2026 it opened a second outpost inside JFK's Terminal 8. The Woodhaven original is still the one to visit: a friendly neighborhood tavern with a full menu, a long wooden bar and a crowd that is used to film fans.
Editor’s tip
Make an evening of it: dinner at the bar, then find your favorite still from the movie on the walls.
