Sheikhs N Burgers is a halal burger and sandwich shop on 164th Street in Hillcrest, the leafy residential pocket just north of downtown Jamaica, and part of a small halal chain with branches on Long Island and outside Chicago. Its motto is halal served right, and the menu reads like a love letter to American fast food rebuilt for a Muslim clientele: stacked burgers, crispy chicken sandwiches, cheesesteaks and wings, alongside New York halal-cart staples like chicken over rice. Queens has become one of the country's great halal food scenes, and this counter fits right into it, open late, family friendly and busy with students and neighbors from across the borough's many South Asian and Middle Eastern communities.

The signature burgers carry the house name: the Sheikh's Special and the Sheikh's Supreme are the ones regulars photograph most, and the Zinger, a spicy crispy chicken burger, has its own loyal following, as does the Sheikh's Zinger sandwich. The Philly cheesesteak and the chopped sandwich are good alternatives, and lamb over salad or chicken over rice suit a lighter appetite. For dessert, order a falooda, the layered South Asian rose milk drink with vermicelli and basil seeds. Sheikhs N Burgers was featured by the YouTuber New York Turk in 2025 in his search for the city's best halal burgers. Takeout and delivery are both offered.

Editor’s tip

Pair a Sheikh's Special with a falooda; the cold rose milk is the perfect foil for a rich burger.
