Brooklyn
A Show at The Bell House
A former Gowanus warehouse where national comics, live podcasts and Brooklyn variety nights share the stage.

The Bell House opened in 2008 in a former industrial building on 7th Street in Gowanus, and it has become the borough's big room for comedy and offbeat live events, as well as concerts. National comedians do club-sized shows here, podcasts record live, and long-running local variety nights share the calendar with bands. It was the regular taping venue for the NPR quiz show Ask Me Another during that program's run.
Buy through the venue's own ticket page; most shows are general admission with some seating, so arrive at doors if you want a chair. The front bar is open to everyone and good before or after. Check whether a show is seated or standing before you buy. It is a short walk from the 4th Avenue–9th Street subway station, and the surrounding blocks have filled with bars and restaurants.
