SOHO, MANHATTAN
Altro Paradiso
Estela's Italian sibling on Spring Street — blonde wood, Hudson light, fennel salad and two new pastas at a time.
See current Google rating & reviews ↗The Italian sibling of Estela, out on the western edge of SoHo, all blonde wood and white marble that catches the late light off the Hudson. It is polished without being stiff — staff in blue work jackets, a dirty martini made with Castelvetrano olives, and a room that feels like a long lunch even at dinner.
The menu is short and changes with the season, usually with a couple of new pastas each visit. Start with the prosciutto and its plate of warm fried dough, and the shaved fennel salad with Castelvetrano olives and provolone, then order both pastas and a steak to share.
Editor’s tip
Book an early dinner for the sunset light, and order the Castelvetrano martini.
