Harry Cipriani

A Fifth Avenue replica of Venice's Harry's Bar, where the Bellini and carpaccio have been house rituals for decades.

Harry Cipriani sits just off the lobby of the Sherry-Netherland hotel on Fifth Avenue, facing the southeast corner of Central Park, and it is built as a close replica of Harry's Bar in Venice, the Cipriani family's famous original. The look is polished and low-key, with crisp white tablecloths, small tables pulled close together and a bar where the Bellini is treated as a house ritual. The room has been serving Venetian food to Fifth Avenue since the 1980s, and it remains a social scene as much as a restaurant, busy from breakfast through dinner. Come for the people-watching and the sense of old New York polish, and stay for a menu that rarely changes because it rarely needs to.

Begin with a Bellini, white peach and prosecco, the drink the Cipriani family first poured at Harry's Bar in Venice in 1948. Carpaccio, the thin-sliced raw beef dish tied to the same family history, is the natural opener, and the Venetian menu runs to classics such as calf's liver and fillet of sole, with a display of house desserts at the end. Harry Cipriani was featured by the YouTuber New York Turk in 2026, filmed as a solo dinner, and a seat at the bar works well for one. Reservations go through Resy, and smart dress fits the room. Expect Fifth Avenue prices and plan on a leisurely meal.

Editor’s tip

Pair the visit with a walk in Central Park across the street; a Bellini at the bar is a lighter way in than a full dinner.
