Oiji Mi

Brian Kim's five-course Korean prix fixe in a sleek Flatiron room — one of the gentler ways into the starred tier.

The grown-up sibling of Oiji, the East Village Korean restaurant that opened in 2015: a big, sleek Flatiron room where chef-owner Brian Kim reworks familiar Korean flavors with restraint. It holds a Michelin star, and the name nods to jeong, the Korean word for deep, warm attachment.

The dining room serves a five-course prix fixe that is easy to love — chilled lobster ramyun with a measured touch of chili is the course people talk about — while the bar and lounge serve an à la carte menu and inventive cocktails. It is one of the gentler ways into the starred tier.

Editor’s tip

Walk in for the bar's à la carte menu if you can't get a table.
