Kwame Onwuachi's glowing Lincoln Center room — short rib pastrami suya, goat patties and a 90s soundtrack.

Kwame Onwuachi's restaurant at David Geffen Hall changed what a big New York night out sounds like: Lauryn Hill and Biggie instead of Vivaldi, cloud-like chandeliers glowing blue and purple, and a dining room that feels like the best party at Lincoln Center. It opened in 2022 and is still one of the toughest tables in town.

The menu draws on Onwuachi's Bronx childhood and his Nigerian and Creole roots. The short rib pastrami suya with coco bread is the one dish to get if you get one; add the curried goat patties, the hamachi escovitch and the egusi dumplings, then the oxtail. Come before or after the Philharmonic, or instead of it.
