PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN
Movement Gowanus
New York's largest climbing gym: three floors of ropes and bouldering, saunas and a roof deck with skyline views.

More photos
The largest climbing gym in New York City: 36,000 square feet on Butler Street in Gowanus, with more than 300 top-rope, lead and bouldering problems across three floors, a dual 10-meter speed-climbing wall and a training "Board Room." A day pass is $37, and a full rental package of shoes, harness and chalk bag is $12.
Beginners can book an intro ropes or bouldering class from the gym's calendar, and there's yoga, Pilates and fitness when your forearms give out. Both locker rooms have saunas, and the outdoor roof deck looks out over Brooklyn and Manhattan, a good place to sit together after the climb.
