UPPER EAST SIDE, MANHATTAN

Armani/Ristorante

Giorgio Armani's own Italian dining room on Madison Avenue, all green lacquer, tall windows and polished pasta.

Armani/Ristorante sits inside Giorgio Armani's building on Madison Avenue, which also houses Armani boutiques, Armani/Casa and private residences. The dining room overlooks the avenue through tall windows, and the design is pure Armani: soaring ceilings, furniture with soft lines, green lacquer accents and warm eucalyptus wood, with a Champagne bar for waiting and a smaller room for private occasions. Executive chef Daniele Castellano cooks traditional Italian recipes with a modern New York sensibility. The New York Post's Steve Cuozzo called it the Upper East Side's classiest place to lunch and dine, and the room has the hushed, polished glamour you would expect from the address.

Forbes Travel Guide points to a scallop carpaccio finished with edible marigold and a sea urchin linguine, while other early coverage praised a mushroom risotto and beef with green peppercorns. Lunch is offered as two-, three- or four-course menus, which makes a midday visit an elegant break from Madison Avenue shopping. The cocktail list is part of the show, including an ultra-chilled martini and a blue Negroni made with butterfly-pea tea gin. Armani/Ristorante was featured by the YouTuber New York Turk in 2025, on a solo dinner. Reservations are recommended; dress to match the setting, and ask for a table by the windows overlooking the avenue.

Editor’s tip

Book the multi-course lunch after a stroll along Madison Avenue; it is the most relaxed way to experience the room in daylight.
