Atomix is the tasting-menu restaurant of Junghyun "JP" Park and Ellia Park, the couple behind Atoboy, and it has become one of the most celebrated Korean restaurants anywhere. It holds two Michelin stars, and in 2025 it was named the best restaurant in North America on the inaugural North America's 50 Best list, while also placing on the global World's 50 Best. The evening starts with drinks and snacks in the lounge bar, then moves down to a hushed basement room where twelve guests sit around a U-shaped chef's counter facing the open kitchen. The name, like Atoboy's, comes from "ato," a Korean word for gift, and the whole experience is shaped like one: precise, thoughtful and deeply personal.

The format is a single multi-course tasting menu that changes with the seasons, so there is nothing to order and everything to notice. Each course arrives with a small card explaining its inspiration, origins and ingredients, along with the ceramics it is served on, and the cards often start a conversation with the staff. A farewell card from Ellia closes the meal. Atomix was featured by the YouTuber New York Turk in 2026 as a solo dinner, and the counter is a comfortable seat for one. Reservations are hard to get and are released online; there is also a bar tasting option. Budget for a long evening and a significant bill.

Editor’s tip

Keep the course cards; together they make a small printed record of the whole menu.
