FLATIRON & NOMAD, MANHATTAN
BLACKBARN
A barn-built farm-to-table room by Madison Square Park from the Waldorf Astoria's former executive chef.
See current Google rating & reviews ↗BLACKBARN brings a farmhouse to the north end of Madison Square Park: a barn-built room of reclaimed wood where chef-owner John Doherty, who became the Waldorf Astoria's youngest-ever executive chef at 27, cooks seasonal American food. The kitchen shops the Union Square Greenmarket, and the restaurant is Green Restaurant Association certified.
It is a natural for a group dinner or a celebration, and on Thanksgiving it serves three courses with shared sides like sausage-apple stuffing and maple sweet potatoes.
Editor’s tip
Bring a group and order family-style; the room is made for long tables.
