HELL'S KITCHEN, MANHATTAN
Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare
A spotlit walnut counter in the back of a Hell's Kitchen grocery, now with two Michelin stars under new chefs.
See current Google rating & reviews ↗Despite the name, this has been a Manhattan restaurant since 2016 — a spotlit, glossy room in the back corner of the Brooklyn Fare grocery on West 37th Street. Most guests sit at a walnut counter wrapped around the brigade, close enough to watch every plate leave. Since 2023 the kitchen has been run by Max Natmessnig and Marco Prins, both alumni of the original in Brooklyn, and it holds two Michelin stars.
The tasting menu is seafood-forward and moves quickly through a run of small tarts and bites before the larger courses, with French and Japanese influences throughout. The service team watches the room from every corner. Dress up; this is still one of the city's most formal counters.
Editor’s tip
Dress for it — the room expects business formal.
