A freight elevator in the middle of Koreatown rises sixteen floors to a dining room styled after a hanok, the traditional Korean house. Guests are welcomed with snacks and a drink before being seated, with the Manhattan skyline in the windows. Chef Chang-ho Shin's restaurant was promoted to two Michelin stars in 2025.

The dinner is a twelve-course tasting menu that follows the Korean seasons. Much of it starts upstate: perilla seeds grown on the restaurant's own First Hand Farm are cold-pressed into oil in the kitchen every week, alongside herbs and vegetables from the farm. The meal closes with confections and a cup of warm tea.

Editor’s tip

Ask for a window seat when you book; the skyline is half the room.
